Great espresso blends take time to develop. I have been working on this for a while, intending to eliminate bitterness in favor of mellowness. Yes, strong, but mellow. The base of this espresso is the same as my other espresso blends, Indian Monsoon Malabar AAA. This amazing coffee provides unique blending qualities with the other beans in the blend, not to mention the wonderful cream it provides. The other beans are from Brazil and Colombia, at just the right proportion.

Roast Level:

City — Very light roast. Beans are a yellowish brown. City+ — Light roast. Beans are light brown. Full City — Medium roast. Beans are a medium chocolate brown. Full City+ — Darker roast. Beans are darker brown. Some oil on surface. Vienna — Very dark roast. Beans are a very dark brown and very oily. French — Almost black roast. Some call this the “ashtray” roast!

Grind Type:

Whole Bean Coarse Grind (Consistency of chunky sea salt. Ideal for French Press.) Medium Coarse Grind (Look like sand. Ideal for Chemex coffee.) Medium Grind (Classic ‘dump in the basket’ size. Ideal for drip coffee.) Medium Fine Grind (Ideal for pour overs and siphon coffees.) Fine Grind (Ideal for espresso.)
